I've had to replace my cabin heater blower motor under the hood which requires getting the wiper motor and linkage assembly out first. The hardest part is to carefully remove the windshield wiper arms from their slotted posts which can require a gear puller if they are likely stuck after unscrewing the fastening nut. Careful with any slip of the tool, as you don't want to chip or crack the windshield glass!! You'll then need to take off the plastic fairing under the hood and below the windshield bottom edge that keeps water and debris from getting into the ventilation system. It's held in place with a few screws. Be careful not to dislodge any gasketing on either side. The wiper motor and linkage assembly unbolts with a little dificulty as some bolts are underneath and up into a bracket below the windshield. Unplug the electrical connector and ease the assembly out from under the windshield edge. I'm not sure whether the motor and linkage assembly are separately available parts, as I don't have my 9-5 parts list in front of me, nor do I know if you can get into the motor and change out any internal parts that might be the problem.
Hope this helps...
