Kind of depends on how you drive... if you use it to do a lot of short trips where the engine doesn't get up to temperature, then a shorter interval is better. I change my oil every 5K no matter what, but I try to do at least two or three high speed runs a week to keep the engine... uh, happy.
Oil changes are cheap insurance so I guess the golden rule is do it often and you won't be sorry.
Other things to look out for can be addressed by those with earlier models... I have an '04. In a nutshell you may want to keep a spare DI in the trunk and, if you're getting close to the 60K mark on the odo, be sure to have the serpentine belt and pulleys replaced. Throttle body and crank position sensor are other areas to keep an eye on. Pixels on the SID sometimes go out. It really depends on the car. Have a good indy mechanic take a look see.
There were upgrades made to the Aero in 2002. You *should* be able to upgrade your suspension to current specs but I'm not sure... maybe someone else can clarify. The 01 won't have the sport seats either but it's still a fun car to drive no matter what. There are some performance upgrades available if you're so inclined but they cost $. Best of luck.
