Not exactly, heres why Posted by Joe [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Aero'ed Where did you get the drawbar?, deltabravo, Wed, 26 Oct 2005 05:32:18 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Right now my wife drives the Saab and I have a Dakota that tows the trailer. My wif's MS is getting worse and the 5-speed in the Saab and the low seat/high sill are tough on her. We need a minivan (gasp). We may also need to get rid of the Saab (double gasp). One thought is that I keep the Saab and ditch the truck. The only issue is I use the truck to haul the race trailer to the track 2x/week (8 miles).
I am not too sure how happy the 9-5 lpt wagon will be with the trailer. My thought was to invest $100 in the drawtight hitch and see how it does. The standard drawbar is a bit low, so I was looking for the one posted by Aero'ed below. It is a bit dodgey since the trailer is 2000 lbs. On the other hand, I love the Saab and I would be getting rid of a 12 mpg truck for a 22mpg car.
The trailer tows nice, but is a bit wide and is as aerodynamic as a brick on the highway. The minivan would be the primary trailer hauling vehicle if we raced at a far away. On the plus side with the 9-5 wagon all of our stuff would stay dry.
Drive Safe,
Joe
