Yes, it does sound like a strange thing to say in public.
I do not think that this can have anything to do with lost MPGs. MPGs are generated with mostly off boost driving with short bursts on boost. I can't see that the valve would effect on off-boost running. If boost is way off the mark, you should get a CEL. Try driving with the hose removed. I found out about the hard way when a TurboXS valve had its hose sheared off from the engine movement in its mounts. (then I reversed its orientation)
