Break-In period & oil change

Picked up my new 9-5 SE this week and absolutely LOVE it! Traded my 1991 900 with 168,000 miles. Huge difference in the cars. The 9-5 is very luxurious. Any way - is there a recommended break-in period for the engine? I believe the manual says not to exceed 4,000 RPM. Is that all? Also, should I change the oil after 1,000 miles to clean any manufacturing residues? As you can see, it's been a while since my last new car and forgot some of this stuff. Thanks.
