The oil pressure relief valve may be stuck open, and the oil pressure is low. When the oil gets hotter (and thinner) than usual, the pressure will be even less and the light goes on. That is one possibility. The relief valve is a simple piston and spring. It can be accessed by removing a large hex cap, on the bottom front corner of the timeing cover, facing down. It is not hard to get at. See if the piston is moving freely or stuck. If there is some scoring or cuts on the piston, don't worry much about that. Just smooth rough bits over by burnishing with a piece of hard smooth steel such as a round screw driver shank. This can be a zero cost operation.
The oil sump is hard to remove. If the screen is plugged up, the pump can make some cavitation noises. It might be easier to first pull the VC and check for sludge or deposits there, and you can see a bit of the TC and sprocket teeth. You could then easily check the head bolt torque as well. If the head is clean, perhaps there is no point in worrying about the screen.
What is the oil history, type, changes etc.
