They might have forgotten to hook the hose up to the nozzle at factory.
I had a 9-5 in some month ago where they forgot to hook up the A/C drain to left drain in floorpan. The customer came in complaining about soaked carpet on driver side.
They had been to the dealer several times and first, the dealer told them that the 9-5 didn't have a drain on left side of the car (only on the right) and the next time they said they cleaned it out and got it working.
When I lifted the carpet, the hose was not even connected to the drain and you could see that it had been that way for a long time since it was tucked away and not in close proximity to the drain.
It's probably not a big deal to fix your problem and I hope they put a new headlinder in instead of trying to clean it since the cardboard structure of the head linder is probably soften by it too.
