If you bought that 99 and it was still under warranty, and you by chance got the service documentation from the first owner, and have the remainder of the service documents for things you had done, then it sounds like you had an engine failure at about 55 K miles, which is unreasonably early, and based on the parts that were replaced, or the mechanic's description of the work done, you might have a very good case to make to Saab for some compensation. The key thing is written records and bills for required maintenance. Even if you did things perfectly while you owned it, the first owner's maintenance is just as important.
You have very little to loose if you present that information in a concise manner to Saab. Good Luck.
