Just installed updated air intake

Just adding another voice to the small chorus here that advocates updating the air intake leading to the airbox with the new, larger diameter part. With the parts in hand the difference is obvious - major reduction in restriction with the new part. Fitting is a piece of cake - it took maybe 20 minutes working slow and in fading twilight in my driveway. Car is a 99 9-5 SE 2.3lpt automatic with 108k miles.
The mid-range is considerably better with the new part - the car responds noticably better from about 3k RPM on up. This certainly suggests that the earlier part was less than optimal. Obviously, the gains are to be had where airflow matters, which is in the upper reaches of the rev band. If you actually drive your car, this is for you; those with lighter right feet will probably be less interested.
