First, fill the coolant up to the proper level with the proper coolant. This is in your owner's manual.
Second, run the car and look under the engine/firewall area for fluid leaking.
If you see drips from the back of the engine there is a very high chance your heater valve is leaking.
The heater valve may also have something to do with the heater not working!
I would take the car to a shop to replace the heater valve. A dealer or any local machanic can change the valve.
