Just last night we installed a Britax Marathon in the back seat of our '01 9-5 sedan, rear facing, for our 5-1/2 month old daughter. In rear-facing guise, the thing is a beast! Our car has the upper tether anchor, but no lower LATCH attachment points. We've installed it with the seat belt but without an upper tether, because it sits naturally at the recommended 45 degree back angle.

We've currently got it installed behind the driver's seat, but only my wife can drive the car with it installed there becuase I can't move the seat back far enough to comfortably (safely) drive without contacting the Britax behind.

Is there any problem (or is it actually recommended) to install that type of seat in the middle position in the back seat? It will block the over-the-shouler right rear blind-spot view out the right rear window, but otherwise that seems to fit well.

I can't wait unti she's old enough to have that huge seat forward-facing!
