They probably put on the 'short belt' that skips the centre idler pulley since that's the only way Saab supplies a belt now and the centre pulley is really hard to change. Yes, on some cars there's a lot more noise at that point. If you go back to the long belt and use the centre pulley again things should be quieter.
I have the same issue with the short belt installed, but now that it's winter the A/C doesn't run and things are a lot quieter. I purchased an aftermarket long belt and will reinstall that in the spring (the centre pulley is still in fine shape), run that for four years, then at the next pulley change (200k km) swap out ALL the pulleys and install another long belt. I guess.
Been lots of discussion here re this issue.
