You'll love a 9-5... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] (#81) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Mike Lynch) on Sat, 26 Nov 2005 16:03:41 In Reply to: thinking of a 2003 linear, davids [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 26 Nov 2005 12:27:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Now that you've owned a couple of the more traditional Saabs, you'll love a 9-5. You'll feel right at home, but it's such a better car than your NG900. 2003 could be considered the perfected year for a 9-5. All the improvements including the paddle shifters and before the loss of the weather band, umbrella holders, puddle lights and other "critical" stuff.
Every 9-3 or 9-5 needs to be looked at for sludge, but it's my understanding it's not a common problem at all, pretty rare. And 9-5's in general are excellent for overall reliability according to folks like Consumer Reports.
Does the Linear you're considering have a premium package with the memeory drivers seat, fancy inside mirror and Harmon Kardon sound? It's not a deal buster, but it's nice stuff. Or did you get really lucky and find one with not only a premium package, but touring package too, including the xenons, park assist and rain sensing wipers?
