We drove from Sacramento to Tucson (via Los Angeles) and back - 890 miles and 14 hours each way... We only got 28mpg, but I wasn't too careful about keeping it out of the boost range, and there was some bumper-to-bumper stuff for a few hours.
In Arizona, the intestate speed limit is 75, so we went pretty fast through the desert. I tend to keep my speed just shy of earning me a 2-point ticket... I'm also glad to report that we didn't get pulled over(whew!).
The Aero was awesome over the grapevine (mountain pass) - plenty of torque and HP to get up the hills and pass slower traffic. I also liked the heated seats (or 'tush toasters' as my wife calls them) - they're great for helping your lower back on these long drives.
I've been loving this car around town, but it's really awesome for long drives, too! This was also our first trip with our dog - we folded down the "60" part of the 60/40 rear seat, and put his dog bed back there, and it worked great.
