Seventeen months and 22k miles ago, Saab replaced my rear shocks and springs under their "goodwill" policy (at that time I was out of warranty by about 4 months). Last week one of the replaced rear shocks began leaking fluid / failed. Before going to my local independant shop, I spoke to the Service Manager at my local Saab dealership who suggested that I had nothing to lose by calling Saab again and request that at a minimum they pick up the cost of a new shock. He viewed it as "long shot" at best.

While I had no expections that they'd come through, I received a call back from Saab within 48 hours informing me that they would indeed pay for the part. I'm responsible for the tax & labor which comes to about $90.

From the posts on this board, I know that many have had difficulty dealing with Saab and their local dealerships. I can only say that my experience has been very positive and they've now done right by me twice.

My only wish now is that Saab can improve the quality control on their suspension components.
