I believe the OEM battery is a BCI group 91. This group is just about impossible to buy in the US. Will a 34R fit without any problems getting the battery cover back on?
Is the optima worth the ~$50 premium over other batteries? One could just change the battery more frequently and go with a cheaper battery. It is too bad Costco doesn’t carry a 34R. Their 34 series is a reasonable $40something. I don’t like the idea of stretching the cables to fit the 34 series. Does anyone have a picture they can post with the cables fitted to a 34 series. Is it a terrible fit or just a little stretch? Does the battery cover still fit? Did you cross the cables or stretch them over the top of the battery with the battery mounted in reverse? Do any of the other wholesale clubs carry a 34R?
How is the battery cover vented? The original battery in my 03 does not appear to have a vent and the housing doesn’t appear to have a vent tube. Was this eliminated at some point?
