Having replaced both front wheel bearings on my 1999 9-5, although they weren't the cause of my front vibration problem (but at 100K+ miles it didn't hurt as a precaution..) the Saab WIS shop manual on CD is quite extensive and details the procedure. The front steering hub knuckle, which contains the pressed in bearing, has to be removed from the car by removing the brake and disc assembly, disconnecting the knuckle from the steering linkage, unbolting it from the front shock strut and from the lower ball joint. With this much disassembly, it's not a bad idea to renew the lower ball joint at the same time, as it is not expensive. The drive shaft(s) can remain in place, as you slide the hub knuckle off with the bearing. You can use a coat hangar wire loop hung from the front spring to hold the drive shaft end up off the ground and prevent the shaft from sliding out. Unless you own a hefty shop press, you'll have to take the hub knuckle(s) to a shop to remove the old bearing, possible breaking it when it's finally forced out. Installation of the new bearing is done with either the same press or a cup and threaded rod Saab hand tool which eases the new bearing into the hub knuckle. Once you get it all assembled back on the car, the final recommended wheel hub torque will load the new bearing with the required force to snug out any wheel hub play.
