Nordic ECM Stage 1 upgrade

I once again have capitulated to impulse and have purchased a modified ECM.
In approximately four days (hopefully) I will receive the Nordic-tuned ECM
containing Stage-1 software for my 1999 9-5 automatic. The cost was shocking (my recently departed 2000 Bonneville received similar electronic re-configurations for less than $200 with impressive results) As I anxiously re-attach the connector to that precious metal box I wonder if I will be delighted or appalled at what has been wrought? Having installed the upgraded air/turbocharger inlet combination the Nordic ECM lay around the nearest bend on the slippery-slope to enhanced performance. I require a daily-driver that will not be at a loss when called upon to merge into a swiftly moving traffic stream. The Bonneville did well in those situations.
I do not "hot rod" and I probably will not perform any further modifications upon the engine. The car seems to run well and does not present with any major or minor health issues. Should I be concerned about durability and/or drivability? I welcome any and all anecdotes.
