Here's what the fine print says, borrowed from another forum from someone with very good vision!
"It’s really quite remarkable. Two of the world’s safest cars are manufactured in Sweden - virtually a stones throw away from each other. When evaluating the safety of these and other cars on the road, the Folksham Insurance Company placed Volvo high on the list. We congratulate them for this. But the car that saved more lives and more frequently minimized the number of severe injuries is the Saab 9-5.
Folksham’s report is based on the in-depth analysis of 76,000 road accidents. As part of the study, the company investigated 27,000 personal injuries over an eight year period. They scrutinized police resources and combed through medical journals. The resulting body of research is totally unique in that the focus is on people, not crash test dummies, which makes us extremely proud to be ranked number one. You see, Saab has always placed a priority of building cars to protect people - not just to meet test requirements.
The fact is that the Saab 9-5 is 45% safer than the average car. According to Folksam’s report, the number of people killed and injured in traffic accidents would be reduced by 42% over night if everyone in Sweden would drive a Saab 9-5. In concrete terms that means 120 lives saved every year.
You’re welcome to stop by your Saab dealer to test drive Sweden’s safest car. We can also safely tell you that it is a pure joy to drive."
