I assume you mean to get the cap tomorrow or Tuesday? Don't drive it too long since you might get rain or moisture into the tank.
It will probably trigger the check engine light to come on but when you have the new cap in place, the light will go out after some restarts and driving trips.
Make SURE you get a gas cap that is designed for the cars tank system.
It is gas caps out on the market that doesn't fulfill the OBD2 standard that was introduced with 1996 cars and up.
The cap still fit the threads but will allow air into the tank too easily and that will trigger the check engine light.
The check valve in gas cap has to have a certain restriction before allowing air to get sucked in.
