Many people believe these open air intakes are a complete waste of money. There is talk about the filters letting small particles pass through, potentially damaging your turbo, and other people say it isnt an upgrade because of higher intake temperatures. To me though, the increase in intake temp (which is very minute) is not that big of a deal for me sinse I really dont plan on buying lots of upgrades for this car. And I figure as long as I keep cleaning and re-oiling the filter regularly, damage to my turbo wont be prevalent. Another thing that is talked about is that the filter hangs too low, but I have that same setup from GenuineSaab and the bottom of the filter is situated at least 14 inches from the ground in an area where no water can enter from the side. I've driven it though rain and puddles and when I get home I reach under and find the filter to be completely dry. I really like this intake, not because of any increase in performance, but because of the ability to hear the turbo spool up and the woooosh of the BPV. Its really nice IMO.
