We have a 2000 9 5 wagon 4 cylinder and love it. We also have an 89 900, which I also love. The 9 5 is a great car on the highway, by far the most comfortable car I have ever driven. Since all the 9 5s are turbocharged, you should look for blue smoke at start up. This can be a sign that the turbo is on the way out. Also make sure that the oil changes have been done regularly. We do ours every 3 - 5K. This helps keep the engine sludge free. As with any used car, have any 9 5 you look at inspected by a good SAAB mechanic. As you know from the 900, it is a quirky car and a mechanic will really know what to look for. Good luck! I think you will be happy with the 9 5 wagon if you decide to buy one.
