First off all 4 years and 100,000 miles from when? From when you purchase the policy, or from the "in service date". Sounds like you're mixing the two. 4 years from when you purchase the warranty and 100,000 total miles is likely what you meant, which is likely a 4 year 50,000 miles policy from the date of purchase.
What kind of coverage? There's excusionary coverage also known as "bumper to bumper" where only the exclusions are mentioned, the normal wear stuff you'd expect, "and everything else is covered". I would note that the GM Protection Plan MajorGuard has quite a few less exclusions and the quote is from GMPP. The new Saab Universal Warranty, the new Saab branded plan from Universal Warranty, is also exclusionary, but their list of exclusions includes the cupholder and many other items not excluded by GMPP.
The other kind of coverage is "named component" where there is a big long list of things, one for engine, one for transmission, another for electrical, and the more groups you have covered, the more expensive the policy. I try and avoid named component comverage when exclusionary is availible has somehow what breaks is never quite on the list even though the list seems very complete.
A GM Protection Plan MajorGuard for 4 years and 48,000 miles from the date of purchase on a car with 36-50k on it that's 2003 and newer has a list price of $2,975 with a $100 deductible. The same policy period, actually 4 years and 60,000 miles, an exclusionary Saab Universal Warranty is $2,748 also with a $100 deductible.
