I suppose it depends on how much they are leaking and how fussy you are about spots on the garage floor. As can be seen in any parking lot, many cars have minor leaks. As long as the fluid levels get checked at appropriate intervals and topped up as needed, there's no compelling reason to fix minor seepage leaks. At some point they may be worth fixing if they get bad enough or you decide the mess on the floor is too much. The best time to do that is when it's time to replace the fluids as part of routine maintenance.
Mechanics routinely report leaks because fixing them is a "profit center", and you can't blame them for wanting to keep your car in the best possible condition. They also prefer working on cars that aren't covered with goo from the leaks.
The dealer reported that my power steering hoses ('99 9-5)were leaking about 40K miles ago. In that time I've had to top up with an aggregate total of about 2 ounces of fluid and have yet to see a drop on the garage floor. At some point it may be worth dealing with, but not yet.
