I've used Koni's for years. They're an excellant shock.
1) No extra parts are required. The old bushings at the top of the shock are reusable. I've never had to replace them.
2) Have your indy order the shocks. Negotiate the same price you can get them for....he may be able to get a break so that he can make a couple of bucks. In exchange, any problems will be his to handle. If you bring him the shocks, you'll have to handle the procurement of a replacement.
3) If you get the adjustable model.....set them at 1 turn greater than the softest setting. If you set them at the firmest setting you'll end up backing off...they can loosen fillings. After 50K-60K miles you can crank them up a turn.
