When you remove the radio, look to your left inside of there. There should be a harness wrapped in a fuzzy tape/cloth. That's the adapter for the phone. You're going to need to unwrap that and then plug the saab harness into there.

As far as placement of the unit and wiring assembly, I just took the kick panel over the driver's feet down and neatly placed everything right on that panel. It worked like a shelf more or less, and once screwed back in, it puts enough pressure to keep it from moving or rattling. Beauty of this setup is that I can now remove it completely, and have it back to stock in under 10 minutes.
