The problem originally was very consistent - it always happened going through toll plazas and on the same off-ramps on the highway. Then they did the software fix - which worked for a while. The problem returned although not as often, but usually at the same places (tolls, ramps). Then they replaced the valve body. The slippage stopped for a while then it came back sporadically - still at toll plazas and then in some stop and go highway driving when there were traffic slowdowns. Recently it's been more noticeable when the weather was warmer - when it was quite cold I didn't notice it as often, but we had some very warm days in December & January and it seemed to be more frequent then. I brought it back in when the slippage occurred multiple times on a business trip up to NH. That's when they admitted that they had someone else experiencing the same thing and they said they would replace the entire transmission. It's annoying when it happens and I wonder what other damage it could be causing as the engine revs up and it finally jolts into 3rd gear.
