Thanks, Steve. We can compare notes in about 3 years when I hit your mileage. I though mine looked good except for the varnish. I've heard contrary opinions whether to worry about varnish. My guess is that you don't want lots of it on moving parts or in oil passages, but it ought to be harmless just sitting on the surface of a case or bearing cap. Whether it tends to form on piston skirts and cylinder walls and how harmful it is there would be a good question to know the answer to. Not that I'm going to take it apart to look, but whether to eventually give it an Auto-Rx treatment would be the question.
