I wonder if the coolant is really leaking on top and then running down and collecting underneath? I'm assuming this is the 3.0 V6 which has an oil to water cooler mounted between the cylinder banks underneath the intake manifold. This cooler is noted for having failing seals and leaking. Hopefully they don't fail in such a way that the water and oil mix? I wound take the plastics off the top of the engine and look for signs of leakage under the intake manifold. I'm not an expert on this issue but I know it also plagued Catera owners as it uses basically the same engine. If it's the cooler, it can be removed and resealed. Search on this board for cooler leaks and the like.
