one is well rewarded for purchasing a current model year vehicle using the year end incentives. Paying MSRP is typically not the best of decisions.
I'm not saying that our resale is horrible, but with the large amount of incentives available on the vehicles throughout the year, one can get into trouble fairly quickly by paying full sticker. I've noticed that after the incentives and rebates are applied, we fair no worse in regards to resale than most other makes. One must remember that between incentive combinations and dealer discount a new 9-5 can be discounted up to $8k-$10k before ever leaving the dealership.
If you compare our residual amounts to our window stickers, we look pretty bad, but if you compare residuals to initial purchase price with incentives applied, we don't look so bad afterall.
Cheers,
Brian.
