I's a royal pain to extract the dip stick tube out of the engine block since it is several pieces staggered on top of each other and held in place by that one bolt going into cylinder head plus they are corroded together.
The upper hose tube going to thermostat housing needs to be loosened up together with the dipstick tube and all pieces including the engine lift eyelet needs to come apart together.
It's easier to put everything back together when things are cleaned up and o-rings lubricated.
It takes quite a bit of force to pull the dipstick tube out of block just as the coolant tube is also tough to extract.
