Saab 95 Crash Worthiness

Wanted to share an experience with everyone on how well my '03 95 Aero stood up to a side crash. Basically a light truck (Mazda B2500) ran a red light as I was crossing an intersection. I had two kids, one in the front passenger seat another in the rear passenenger seat, and the driver of the Mazda hit me broadside on the passenger side. Basically he hit just to the front of the pillar crushing both the front and rear doors. Mostly probabily I got hit at around 30-35 mph, he never hit the brakes as he wasn't looking (dog jumped into his lap).
So to make a long story short. Both doors were crushed but there was no intrusion into the passenger compartment. Couldn't believe it. Both kids never felt anything but the side airbags going off. I was able to drive the car away while the Mazda truck had to be pushed to the side of the road.
At the end of the day I owe my kids safety to those Saab doors. Pretty amazing. Most of the damage were the doors (insurance ended up not totally the car) which were replaced and the outside pillar.
Thought I would share this with everyone in case anyone had questions about how well these cars standup in a side impace collison
