The service manger used to work for BMW so I think he is used to slightly different architecture. I understood him to mean the center subframe that each side of the independent suspension mounts to. I think the parts catalog calls this the rear axle. I don’t buy that this is going to fix anything, but I think at this point I have to just go along with it until they get it right or give up. Saab specifically told the dealer that replacing the hubs will not help as the problem is not at the hubs (the dealer though it might be). He made no mention of any bushings needing to be changed. I don’t know how unusual this is but if I have the part right it is about $250 plus a lot of labor. Saab claims it has done this before. I would think it is pretty odd for any vehicle to need such a component. I will post the part numbers and whether this fix improves the alignment at all. This is testing my patience, but some action is better than nothing.
