After three years I am selling my 2000 9-5 SE. I can list about 100 things I will miss about this car. I love my Saab and would recommend it to anyone who asks (note that my opinion would be drastically different if my car wasn't a CPO vehicle as some of the repairs would have been costly).
Why sell? Because although I love my Saab, I love my family more. Last week they announce (in NY) that 3 hybrid cars can use the HOV lane with only one person. I drive on a road called the Long Island Expressway for 35 miles a day and it takes over an hour each way while I watch people in the HOV lane zoom by me. Taking that lane will get me home to my family about 20-30 minutes earlier.
The day after they announced the new law, I went out and bought a Prius. It comes in this week. It has some cool features the 2000 Saab doesn't have (Bluetooth, a smartkey automatic start system, an audio in jack for my MP3 player, a back-up camera), and it gets about 45 mpg. Other then that, the Saab is superior in about 100 different ways. I don't care about any of them. It's all about the family.
I just wanted to thank everyone who participates in this board. I have only posted a few times, but I found a tremendous amount of useful (and sometimes non-useful but still interesting) information on this website. You might not realize how many people are reading the posts without adding comments. Your help and insights were always appreciated.
Thanks again.
