That is strange you should ask. I had a 2002 9-5 in which I had to have the fog light replaced twice after it was broken out. I just bought a brand new 9-5 2 months ago. Guess what, I got home today and the passenger side fog light is broken out. Do you know if you have to remove the front bumper to replace it? I was going to try to do it myself this time. At first glance, it looks as if the bumper may have to be removed.
Also as far as the reason why this happens more on Saabs; I have two theories:
a) birds can not "sense" the car coming because of its sophisticated aerodynamics. I know this seems silly, but I hit more birds in my 9-5 than I ever did with my Maxima.
b) people see your car, they are jealous of it, then kick the fog light out!!! Just kidding, but the aerodynamic thing may be right on.
