Anyone Manage to Program Mirror Buttons?

Recently got a new '05 Aero. What a cool machine! The rear view mirror has three buttons which can be programmed for security system/garage door remotes. Tried time and again with my security system remote per manual instructions and it doesn't take. My remote times out per the Canadian standard (Alarm is a DSC) also covered in the manual, still no luck. Anyone know if all encryption types will work?
