I recently purchased a '99 95 with 90k, the 4-cylinder too, days after purchasing this immaculate car from the original owner who never had a problem with the car (documents to back this up) the car had trouble starting and shuttered and burbled at start up and idle, especially with the climate control on. I have fixed the following-DIC, some shaft adjuster thing, fuel filters, plugs, and the belt drive assembly with was upgraded from the 3-wheel system to the 2-wheel system. GUESS WHAT, the problem has lessened but is still there, my mechanic said the next move would to be to replace the throttle body but that in his experience these usually go out around 60k and he was shocked that mine had made it so far. I would talk with your mechanic about the specifics of what they fixed or didn't!
