Wait till you did this on a 2003 9-5 Linear and the next week your wife calls and informs you the oil light is on and after all the fear you have after hearing that it was a bad OEM Saab sensor, So I did it again. I just completely removed the starter from under the car and did all the work from under the car. The starter will come out with the exhaust in tack on my car. A 12 point 24mm socket would allow the wire to get into one of the 12 points without damage a 6 point would not. Ratchet wrenches on the starter bolts helps tremendously on this job. If my memory is correct it was 16mm and 18mm sizes the two hardest to find in a set. You would think an oil sender would be a no brainer to make. I did learn the hard way since I had a 1998 NG900 sender on the shelf (blade hook up) will fit the 9-5 if you cut off the defective sender wire at the sender and install a blade connector, female, to fit the 900 sender. Works like a charm at $4.00 instead of $18. I had to install this to get the car back up. I then put back in the defective replacement back to OEM. Again I am an expert Starter remover at this point. Still surprised the unit would remove without the exhaust pipe removed.
