Didn't think about dirt and water, was just thinking of the gap as being a bit more grille opening. my 900 has no gasket there, and just a gap. hopefully it wouldn't behave differently than that.
maybe it can be straightened up. I'll keep 1200 in mind as I think how much I want to pay for it.
