There is a switch in the stalk on the steering wheel. Here's why it is the probable cause:
If the indexing switch in the motor doesn't work, then the wipers will stop wherever they are on the windshield when you turn them off; the other thing that happens is that they stop at one third of the way across when in intermittent. But since you have replaced the motor, and the chances of the microswitch inside (that gives the motor just enough juice to park the wipers properly) failing in two motors is really small, I would conclude that it has to be the switch in the stalk.
Had a similar problem, stopping a third of the way across, in my wagon and it seemed to be related to moisture or corrosion. But I had a friend go through the logic on the Haynes book electrical diagram, and that helped us figure it out. It went away, and I didn't have to replace the motor, but I was going to!
Good Luck,
