Because of their worldwide operations, the attractiveness of bankrupcy is considerably less for GM than a domestic US company. Saab would be hard to shut or sell because of Sweedish laws. Thus, the public statements by senior management that they don't consider bankrupcy an option at this point. If they should go into Chapter 11, preservation of their business base (loyal owners like us) would be a top priority. Afterall, the goal woudl be to energe stronger. Bottomline, enjoy your Saab in this beautuful spring weather and don't worry about GM!
