OK, here is what you need:
1. You don't need the banana
2. A new '02+ style key shank cut to your car is ~$30. This is the one with the integrated remote, but for $30 you don't get the remote electronics. You order this through a dealer - I suggest Hyannis Saab as a cheap hassle free vendor.
3. This type of key has to have the electronic "guts" in it to start the car. You can get the "guts" by purchasing a used complete key on eBay. This is the $20 or so part. The electronics with the buttons will seperate from the shank and you can then swap it into your new key that fits your car. You then must have it programmed to the car by someone with a Tech II. My mechanic did this for me for free, a dealer probably won't.
4. The original non-remote style key that goes with the banana remote may be even cheaper from the dealer and then you need nothing else to make it work other than having it programmed to the car. Again, you do not need the remote, so if you are going to hide it on the car this is probably the way to go.
