Hi All,
Hope you can help.
2001 95 Aero. 85K miles. Automatic.
Problem started this afternoon. Car seemed to surge and shake when I stopped at a red light. Idle was rough. Shifting the car into neutral seemed to cure the problem. Putting it back into drive, the problem started again.
I can put it in neutral and raise the RPM with no problem. Engine revs up smoothly. Idle drops back down to about 1000 rpm (If I remember correctly). Shift back into drive and it shakes and surges again like it is going to stall. Does not stall though. Acceleration feels a little weak. Power does not seem to develop. Maybe this is my imagination. But I do remember the car pulling harder.
No "check engine" lights on the dash or SID. Car starts with no problem.
I filled the tank (Mobil 93) yesterday. Cap is on tightly.
Today was funny weather. It seemed to be hot/cold/dry/humid all at the same time.
The DIC was replaced about 4 months ago. Latest software was installed at that time.
Any ideas? Could it be water in the gas I purchased? Idle control?
Thanks for any ideas.
Regards,
Rich Maurin
