If there is none, with the heat and pressure, the rubber can bond to the ceramic insulator and subsequent removal can tear the rubber. So all that you need to do is make sure that this contact area gets a film of silicone grease (that what it is), to prevent sticking. A new DI used to come with some applied. Applying to the rubber means that there will not be exposed ceramic that has any applied. That will avoid having some trapping dust and dirt that can intern attract moisture and contribute to spark leakage. But that is not a common issue, perhaps mostly theoretical.
