I've been through the rotor replacement on both my 2000 9-5 and my wife's 2004. The later uses an E20 Torx socket. I bought one from SnapOn (1/2" drive is a must). Combined with a breaker bar and 2 ft. of pipe (actually the remainder of a handle from an old hydraulic jack) removal is easy. IF you put the car up on jack stands the whole process is a non-event.
For earlier vintages an 18mm hex head socket will do. Again, 1/2" drive is a must combined with a breaker bar and a piece of pipe to make it real easy. Also...putting the car up on jack stands is a must.
The slider bolts for the caliper assy are 7mm hex bolts. They don't use Loctite and should come out easily with a 3/8' drive rachet (10" or 12").
Good luck,
Herb
