I'd agree with the analysis that there are way more quick chop and sell Hondas out there than Saabs. Nonetheless, my classic 1985 900 Turbo was stolen in broad daylight one Sunday afternoon in a residential area of Georgetown in Washington, DC. It was like pulling teeth to get the DC police to even come to the scene to have me file a report in person!! My insurance agent accurately surmised that it was the work of 12 year olds on a rash of smash and grab joy ride car thefts in the area and that the car would like turn up abandoned by the next day. Sure enough, I received a call from the police at about 4 AM informing me my car was found in an alley out of gas in the city. Luckily, no damage was done, other than the broken window and the ignition lock. Again, my insurance agent had accurately described the use of a body shop dent puller threaded into the ignition lock and then just a screwdriver to turn the ignition with the removal of the lock cylinder. I considered myself lucky to get the car back and not have only $1,000 in insurance money in hand.
