If I'm understanding it correctly. The mechanic had a brand new setup of bracket and wheels (pulleys) that fit another Saab model (probably the NG900/9000 V6).
And he opted for taking off those brand new pulleys from that bracket and install them on the bracket that came from your car, correct?
That's fine since the pulleys are all the same from 94 to 2004 but the mounting bracket made out of aluminum have gone through three different changes through the years.
So if he installed all three pulleys from a brand new setup to your car you should be all fine with that since the aluminum bracket is not of concern as for failing.
It is also important that he used the correct spacers under the two idler pulleys but if he reused the ones from your car you should be ok in that matter too.
Price sounds ok I guess.
I charge about $550.00 to replace all pulleys and timing belt on the V6 engine.
