I have experience with both service departments. I've been to North Shore SAAB a couple of times and their work is not bad.
But I had a questionable experience with their commitment to their customer. My brakes went and it was no longer safe to drive the car. When I got the car to the service department, I was told that they could not squeeze me in for service that day. I had to leave the car there and rent a car for the day. Big bucks ... while I was waiting for the car rental to deliver the car, I decide to cancel the rental and take the car to a brake shop. When told of my intent, they miraclously was able squeeze me into their service schedule; and it was while-I-wait service too. So had I not decide to leave, it would have been an expensive day. By the way their service dept is not on Northern; it on 611 Glen Cove Rd, Glen Head, NY 11545.
My experience with City SAAB (Formerly Bayside Saab) was different. It was another emergency and they too could not service my car the day I bought it in. The reason was no parts; fuel injector. I don't know why they don't have standard parts in stock, but they did just relocated from Bayside to LIC.
Either case, I was dissapointed that there was no car loaner available. I'd have to say, I don't know if my next car will be a saab. Lack of dealers and customer commitment is a big concern.
