9-5 Hatch Hydraulics???

We have a 2000 Saab 9-5 Wagon. Just the other day the hatch/tailgate was a lot harder to open. It still held the up position. Well a week later, it is near impossible to open and will no longer remain open(you must hold it open and have someone else load and unload the car). Any ideas on how easy of a fix this is. I think that I could fix it with the right knowlegde of how and where the hydaulics are located.
