Vehicle: 2000 9-5 Aero 90K miles

Yesterday while driving to dinner, a horrible noise started coming from my engine compartment. It was frequency dependent, and depending on whether I turned the wheel it would also vary the pitch/tone of the noise. Fairly quickly this makes me think it has something to do with power steering or a belt that drives that.

Once I got to a safe place, I popped the hood and listened - it sounded like it was coming from the passenger-side of the engine - by the belt. Right there I decided I'd probably have it towed in as I don't want to damage anything, but an hour later the noise is completely gone. If I bring it in now, they'll think I'm nuts.

Now, all this said, my car's CPO warranty expires in literally a week. I'm not sure if this noise will return within the week, or whether I should just bring it in anyway. Any thoughts on what could cause this?

And, yes, this vehicle has been religously maintained, although I haven't had my 90K service done yet - I only passed that mark last week.
